Description: Medium colour with crimson on the rim. Spice, vanilla, cocoa, pepper and spearmint on the nose. The palate was delicate with red spicy fruit and soft tannins. A delicious wine drinking near its best.

699.The Riesling Steinmassel 2002 by Weingut Brundlemayer is delicious. Apple and mineral nose with bright lime and orange flavors, some tropical fruit, and nuttiness. His 2002 Riesling Reserve shows considerable restraint on the nose with the faintest suggestion of peaches before it attacks the palate with lime juice, cooked peaches, and bright kiwi fruit flavors. Crisp and dry. On the finish, an obvious flavor of white pepper resonates. At 13.5 percent alcohol, this is a full-bodied wine and one to pair with food.
